TAKE the Central line from Castrate Angel to A Retard Cottonmouth and change to the Northern, then go one stop south to Queerer Elastics

No, we haven’t taken leave of our senses, we’re just telling you how to get from Lancaster Gate to Leicester Square (via Tottenham Court Road) on the weird and wonderful Anagram Tube Map, the latest strange internet craze to delight London’s web nerds.

Taking a well-earned holiday? You’ll probably be taking the Piccadilly line to Thermohaline Wart 1, 2, 3 or 4 (passing through Owl News South). Visiting Harrods? Get off at Togetherness Thinking, or possibly Birth Kind Eggs. Catching a gig at the O2 Arena? Get off at Other Wrenching.

The names range from the sweet (Shown Kitten, Northern line, zone two; The Orchids, East London line, zone two) via the surreal (Godparent Bikers, Bakerloo, zone three; Elk Ramp, District line, zone six; Burst Racoon, District and Piccadilly, zone two), to the disconcertingly rude-sounding (Browny Helmet, Bakerloo line, zone four; Erect Bone, District line, zone five; Wifely Stench, Northern line, zone four, and many more…).

It’s one of the funniest things to happen to London transport since Boris Johnson, and it’s been flying around Twitter and the blogs.

Take a look at our gallery and see what your part of town is called. And in case you were wondering, here are all the above-named Tube stops as they’re really known, in order of appearance:

Heathrow Terminal 1, 2, 3, and 4; Hounslow West; High Street Kensington; Knightsbridge; Greenwich North; Kentish Town; Shoreditch; Stonebridge Park; Elm Park; Barons Court; Wembley North; Becontree; West Finchley.
