Shocking photos of a man who impaled himself on a fence after a 30 cm spike went up his bottom
5 June 2009
THE boozy late night trip to the museum had seemed like a good idea at the time.
But this suspected thief ended up impaled on a security fence as he tried to clamber in.
Siyana Pasiwe, 32, was stuck on the fence for two hours, but says he didn't feel any pain because of the amount of booze he had knocked back.
Although he is suspected of trying to break into the museum, the South African says that he had only been trying to sleep off a drinking session when it all went terribly wrong.
Rescue workers were forced to use an axle grinder to free him from the 30 cm spike in South Africa earlier this month.
Mr Pasiwe denied trying to break into the museum, saying he had fallen asleep in a drunken stupor before deciding to sober up.
He said: "I woke up and decided to continue walking home, but when I saw a tree I thought I would be able to jump to the other side".
He has suffered severe rectal and intestinal injuries after the accident but has since been discharged from hospital.
