Office-style pranks are revealed on NBC website
Viewers send in photos of practical jokes inspired by Ricky Gervais's hit sitcom
20 May 2009
ONE of the best bits about Ricky Gervais's legendary sitcom The Office was Tim’s constant tormenting of loser Gareth – including the inspired stapler-in-jelly prank.
Now viewers of US television station NBC, which hosts the American version of the hit show, have sent in their own office jokes.
The station invited fans to send in pictures of their own offices. And some used the opportunity to send in pics of the pranks they’d played on their colleagues.
Highlights include an homage to the jelly trick – a boss’s mouse encased in Jell-O – as well as a surprisingly beautiful Post-It attack which leaves a cubicle looking a little like a Rubik’s Cube.
Others thought a co-worker’s desk lacked a certain tinfoil feel, and how someone found the time at work to fill an entire cubicle with Styrofoam packing peanuts is plain baffling.
