A London man furious by Boris Johnson’s election as Mayor is to invoke an ancient curse which he hopes will get rid of him altogether.

Angry Mark McGowan will perform the ritual from the south side of Tower Bridge facing the GLA building tomorrow at noon.

McGowan, who says he is being guided by an ‘old Japanese woman’ said: “Boris Johnson needs to be sorted out no matter what, he’s a terrible man. How Londoners voted for him I will never know.

“I believe that there is no alternative but to put on a curse, which will hopefully get rid of him once and for all.”

The ‘extremely complicated’ curse will take up to four hours to carry out and involves bats'  blood, herbs, a spider’s legs and an effigy of Boris, which will be burned.

McGowan said he faced problems of his own if the curse worked. “This is an extremely dangerous procedure. Cursing somebody is not to be treated lightly and I have been told that any curse will come back to the person threefold.

“But I am willing to take the risk and I trust the old Japanese woman who is guiding me.”

Not that Boris need worry too much: the curse is not a death curse, but a bad luck one.

This is not the first time McGowan has made his political discontent felt in public. In 2007 he crawled through New York City on his hands and knees wearing a George Bush mask and a sign saying "Kick my ass".

In the same year he also ate a 'small corgi' live on London's Resonance FM, and in 2003 he attempted to 'sail' 400 miles from Peckham to Glasgow in Scotland in a shopping trolley.

He failed in his attempt after 17 days and 65 miles, due to bad weather conditions and poor equipment.
