A grieving London groom is set to wed his deceased fiancee
Groom to wed dead bride
A GRIEVING London groom will wed his dead fiancée in a marriage-style ceremony six months after she died in a car crash.
Alan Hooley, 25, plans to recreate the romantic nuptials the loving couple had planned before his 21-year-old lover, Charlotte Simpson, was killed in October.
The decorator, from south-east London, will wear a white jacket, pink waistcoat and incorporate the horse-drawn carriage and pink flowers his bride-to-be had chosen.
Some 250 guests, including friends and family, will attend the tragic blessing ceremony on 2 May.
In an unusual twist, Hooley will also wear a chain sporting a diamond made from Simpson’s ashes.
Her parents, two sisters and Alan’s mother will also get diamonds – made of compressed ashes - valued at £7,000 each.
A party for 300 pals on Simpson’s birthday, 7 February, will help raise the cost of each precious jewel.
Hooley said: “I’m going to do the day exactly how she had planned it. I want to get it as close to the wedding as possible.
“It’s helping me out a lot. I want to do it to keep Charlotte’s memory alive.”
