AFTER Russian beauty Maria Sharapova was dumped out in the second round, British hopes were restricted to Marmite Murray and flamboyant, if slightly greasy, Spaniard Rafael Nadal crocked, the greatest tennis tournament on earth is on the verge of becoming, well, rather boring.

But fear not; in these desperate times thelondonsport have dug out the top five tennis WAGs, guaranteed to keep you glued to your TV set during the final week.

So move over Posh Spice and Cheryl Cole and say hello to Brooklyn Decker and Bec Cartwright – the Wimbledon WAGs:

5. Sara Foster is the American actress fiancee of Tommy Haas. When he is not been given the runaround by 15-year-old ballgirls on Centre Court the 24th seed is busy cosying up to the 27-year-old – in fact the lucky German is engaged to the tenth hottest woman in the world, according to Maxim circa 2005.

4. Leryn Franco, the Paraguayan javelin thrower, is reportedly courting Serbian ace Novak Djokovic. Apparently the pair struck it off at the Beijing Olympics. That would probably explain why Franco limped to a lowly 51st. She might be useless with the javelin, but she’ll always have her looks to fall back on – in 2006 she was the Miss Paraguay runner-up.

3. Kim Sears and Andy Murray were seeing each other before he shot to tennis fame. Yes, we were surprised as well. Student Sears, 21, is studying English at Sussex University – maybe she could give her fella a few tips.

2. Arrogant Aussie Lleyton Hewitt probably couldn't believe his luck when he married Bec Cartwright. The Wimbledon champion had been dating retired Belgium tennis player Kim Clijsters before he hooked up with the Home and Away star. That’s probably the best steal since Sol Campbell moved to Arsenal from arch-rivals Spurs on a free.

1. Andy Roddick served up a real treat when he landed Brooklyn Decker. To be fair to the Yank, his resume ain't bad, having dated pop hotty Mandy Moore before wedding the American bikini model earlier this year. Decker, 21, has modelled for FHM, Vogue and Victoria’s Secret, and now she can add to that thelondonsport. What a lucky lady!
