Federer beats Tommy Haas to reach Wimbledon final
Switzerland ace dominates semi-final clash against Germany’s Haas at the All England Club to reach his seventh consecutive Wimbledon final
3 July 2009
ROGER FEDERER is through to his seventh consecutive Wimbledon final after defeating Tommy Haas in straight sets.
The Swiss ace was in sublime form, breezing through the semi-final encounter 7-6, 7-5, 6-3, and will face Andy Roddick in the All England Club final.
Federer, who has won all of his semi-finals at Wimbledon in straight sets, made the 24th-seeded Haas look ordinary on Centre Court.
The big German was expected to cause Federer problems after beating world number four Novak Djokovic in the last eight.
But although the match was far from one-sided, Federer took his chances and now looks the overwhelming favourite to claim his sixth Wimbledon title.
