West Ham defender James Collins poised to sign for Aston Villa
The Wales international is in the Midlands this morning to undergo a medical and thrash out personal terms ahead of £5m move

JAMES COLLINS is at Aston Villa’s training ground this morning, ahead of his proposed £5m move to the Midlands.
The defender, who has also been linked with a move to Stoke City, will complete the move in time for the 5pm deadline, providing he passes a medical and agrees personal terms.
Collins, who moved to Upton Park in 2005, has played over 50 games for the Hammers, but was ruled out for nine months after he suffered knee ligament damage in January 2008.
Collins' move to Villa will allow West Ham to pursue their interest in Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Morocco international has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal thought to be his favoured destination.
But the Hammers, who are short of attacking options, have refused to rule out a bid for the Bordeaux star, who helped his side to the Ligue 1 title last season.
