Tottenham have completed the signing of Sebastien Bassong
The former Newcastle United and Metz defender has penned a long-term contract at White Hart Lane but will miss Spurs opening Premier League games due to suspension

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR have completed the signing of Newcastle United defender Sebastien Bassong for £8m.
The 23-year-old centre-half has penned a long-term contract at White Hart Lane, after spending just one season with the relegated Magpies.
Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his defensive options, following the injuries to defensive trio Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson, who are all set to miss the start of the season.
"Jonathan Woodgate is struggling and I think he may have to have an operation," Redknapp said earlier this week.
"I think he may have to have another hernia operation. He had one at the end of last season but obviously it has not worked so he may have to go back in again.
"We are still looking to improve the squad. If I can still get one or two in to make us strong it will be good."
Bassong, who won Newcastle’s Player of the Year award last season, will not be available for Spurs' opening two games after he received a ban held over from the end of last season.
