Queens Park Rangers boss Jim Magilton plans raid for Ipswich Town duo
QPR chief wants Jon Walters and David Norris to join him at Loftus Road
5 June 2009
JIM MAGILTON is set to raid his former club Ipswich Town by launching a summer bid for Jon Walters and David Norris.
The Northern Irishman, who was named as the new QPR boss on Wednesday, is wasting little time in re-shaping his squad for next season.
Magilton signed both players during his time at Portman Road and is now hoping to lure the duo to west London.
Striker Walters, 25, still has three years left on his deal but is unlikely to figure under new manager Roy Keane, while midfielder Norris could struggle to force his way into the first team.
And Magilton is also hoping to beat his former club to the signing of Sunderland defender Paul McShane, who is highly rated by former Black Cats boss Keane.
