Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to Phantom of the Opera set for West End premiere
ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER’S much-hyped sequel to Phantom of the Opera will premiere in the West End this autumn.
Love Never Dies is to open at the Adelphi Theatre – currently home to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – in October or November. Tickets are set to go on sale in late May.
Lloyd Webber originally planned to open the sequel simultaneously in London, Toronto, New York and Shanghai but said the capital will “have the edge” over the rest.
He also said he hoped to cast Ramin Karimloo, who is playing the Phantom in London, to star in the new show.
Love Never Dies has the Phantom living in a fairground on Coney Island, New York. He is ¬reunited with Christine, who is married to Raoul and has a son.
