THE man behind the World Cup winning ways of rugby heroes Jonny Wilkinson and Martin Johnson has vowed to get Britain fit.
In preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games fitness expert Dave Reddin, who has also trained skiing ace Chemmy Alcott, has turned his attention to the rest of the nation.
Reddin has created the National Fitness Test, an online system that tells anyone and everyone how fit they are in just 15 minutes.
The test uses a simple watch and tape measure and is designed to give an accurate representation to anyone of how fit they are.
The system works by giving users simple exercises they can do in their own home to measure their basic fitness so they can tell whether they need to improve their lifestyle.

The test is rated out of 1,000 points and users are also given a simple percentage score and fitness age.
The test, www.testmyfitness.co.uk, takes 15 minutes and takes every factor into account including age and sex so that, for example, a 65-year old grandmother could fairly compare herself with her 16-year-old grandson.
"Starting out is one of the most important parts of a path to greater fitness – as you need to know what level you’re at to know where to go."
Reddin said: “Starting out is one of the most important parts of a path to greater fitness – as you need to know what level you’re at to know where to go.
“The National Fitness Test enables you to take ownership of your fitness – it gives you a starting point as well as allowing you to track over time your progress on your journey to a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.
“Every day I meet and train people who find starting a fitness programme intimidating.
“Being surrounded by hi-tech equipment, complicated regimes, needless jargon as well as other people judging you.
“What we aimed to do was devise a new trustworthy concept that allowed anyone – no matter how fit or unfit, sporty or non-sporty – to kickstart their regimes by accurately discovering their fitness levels and comparing them fairly to each other.”
The system is backed by World Cup winning rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, who said: “What the National Fitness Test does is provide everyone with free and easy access to a friendly tool to accurately test and track your fitness without specialised equipment, and understand what you need to improve on. It’s the perfect place to start.”
