Man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman was knocked down and killed.

The woman, in her 20s, was hit by a Porsche Cayenne car in Knightsbridge, at 10pm on Monday outside the Mandarin hotel.

Police cordoned off the area as paramedics tried to save her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The driver of the Porsche initially left the scene but returned soon after"

A Met police spokesman said: "The driver of the Porsche initially left the scene but returned soon after.

"He has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and remains in custody at a central London police station.”
