THE funeral of an 11-year-old boy killed in a hit-and-run collision on a pedestrian crossing will take place today.
Michael McDonagh, known as Richie, was killed crossing a dual carriageway in Neasden, north London, on the evening of Saturday November 29.
He was hit by a saloon car on the North Circular and knocked into the path of a second vehicle.
The driver of the saloon drove off.
The 11-year-old died later in hospital from multiple injuries.
The funeral will take place at St Patrick's Church in Neasden. Richie will then be taken by horse drawn cortege to Kensal Rise Cemetery.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place at around 7.20pm.
The family of the schoolboy have also urged the driver to give himself up.
His father, Martin, who is originally from Northern Ireland, said the boy was "my love and my life".
The accident happened as Richie was crossing the busy road with some of his cousins.
They had been to a McDonald's and were returning to a wake for Richie's grandmother, who died on the morning of the accident.
Anyone with information on the incident, which happened outside a branch of Ikea, is urged to call the Collision Investigation Unit on 0208 998 5319 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
