Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules faces jail over recycling rage

Red Dwarf jail?

RED Dwarf star Danny John-Jules may face jail after being found guilty of attacking two bin-men who refused to empty his recycling bin.

The Blade II actor, 47, punched and kicked father-and-son team Jan and Jaroslaw Lisiecki.

They left the bin after finding polystyrene in it despite the green bin being intended solely for recyclable goods.

John-Jules then emerged from his house swearing and spitting at Jaroslaw and knocked the pair to the floor in a flurry of punches and kicks.

The actor, who played the style-obsessed Cat in the BBC sci-fi sitcom, was wearing only a dressing gown and his wife’s slippers at the time of the attack.

He had been accused of using a 16-inch knife in the attack, but Brent Magistrates Court found no evidence of a weapon being used.

Council worker Jaroslaw previously told the court that he and his father had been unable to take the bin from the house in Kensal Rise because of the polysterene.

Jaroslaw said: "He kept saying 'you need to take this bin away'. He got more upset. He spat at me in my face."

His father told the court that John-Jules told him "f**k you, you f**king c**t" before lashing out.

John-Jules is due to be sentenced in November. Magistrates say they are keeping all options open.
