Londoners enjoy outdoor screenings of the Ashes
Thousands of Londoners start the weekend early by heading to Victoria, Southwark and The City to grab deckchairs for big-screen action

THOUSANDS of sports fans will be starting the weekend early in a mad scramble to grab seats at outdoor screens showing The Ashes.
The fifth and final Test match will be screened at three central locations - Victoria, Southwark and The City.
But as England go head to head with the Aussies, expect a rush as dozens of free deck chairs are snapped up early.
The weather should be fine after today’s rain clears to make way for a warm weekend.

And that can be only good news for others pitching their tents at Virgin Media’s V Festival in Essex and for those lucky enough to have tickets to the Ashes at the Brit Oval.
Anyone watching Freddie Flintoff and the boys today should pack their waterproofs for heavy rain later this afternoon if you are heading to the screens at Cardinal Place, New Street Square and Bankside Mix.
The outdoor screenings are part of the Great British Summer Festival.
