After the last couple of weeks of fiery heat and sudden thunderstorms, the capital will cool off a little, with temperatures hovering around 22C.

Apart from some scattered showers this evening, we can expect to enjoy dry weather for most of this week. The weekend should be warm and sunny, with Sunday reaching a balmy 24C.

Elsewhere in the UK, a series of flood warnings have been issued in Scotland, with hundreds of children evacuated from a school in Dunblane.

Thunderstorms and gales of up to 50mph are expected elsewhere in Scotland.
