First picture of Hackney murder victim
Police are appealing for witnesses after 29-year-old Edward Thompson was shot in Amhurst Road in Hackney, east London, as he sat in traffic in a car with three friends

POLICE have released a photo of a man who died after being shot in a car in east London.
Edward Thompson, 29, died after a shot was fired as he waited in traffic in Hackney on Sunday at 3.45pm.
It is believed he was a front seat passenger with three male friends in a blue Volkswagen Polo, which was stationary in traffic in Amhurst Road near the junction with Marcon Place.

“Detectives wish to hear from anyone who saw what happened or saw two suspects running from the scene.”
The victim was taken to hospital following the shooting but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
