A BOY of 13 has appeared in court charged with the murder of a promising young footballer.
He is accused of stabbing 17-year-old Jahmal Mason-Blair in the neck in Hackney, east London.

He stood in the dock at the Old Bailey to confirm his name, appearing before Judge Brian Barker, the Common Serjeant of London.
Wearing an oversized light grey sweatshirt with sleeves too long for his arms, the young defendant was barely able to see over the dock as he sat down for the remainder of the short hearing.
The schoolboy, from Hackney, was remanded in custody for a plea and case management hearing on 13 August.
A trial is due to take place on 2 November.
The victim dreamed of becoming a professional footballer and had attended the Tottenham Hotspur development centre for young players.
