Acid attack in Leytonstone leaves man critical

A MAN is fighting for his life after being attacked with acid and knifed in the back in Leytonstone.
The 24-year-old victim was targeted by a gang at 2am on Thursday as he walked home along Marchant Road.
The attackers threw acid in their target's face, causing serious burns to his face and chest, before stabbing him twice in the back.
The injured man managed to get away from the gang and ring 999 for an ambulance.
Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the attack.
A Met spokesman said: "The group threw a noxious liquid over the 24-year-old victim before stabbing him twice in the back. The liquid caused serious burns to the victim’s face and chest.
"He managed to escape and raise the alarm and an ambulance was called. He remains in a critical condition in a London hospital."
