Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham plans to design a new handbag range for her VB brand, which she hopes will help the company expand into the top end of the accessories market

SHE might already be carving out a new career path in TV via American Idol, but Victoria Beckham is also seeking to extend her empire by launching a new range of handbags.

Posh, 35, wants her clothing line, VB, to expand into the top end of the accessory market.

Our source said: "Victoria is looking for designers from the top houses to help her put together a high end collection that will rival her favourite brands, like Louis Vuitton and Dior.

“She wants the range to be classic but contemporary, and she’s interviewing designers she wants to work with personally.”

Victoria is also known for her love of Hermes handbags and reportedly has a collection worth £1.5million.

The ex-Spice Girl has already worked with Japanese label Samantha Thavasa, which designed a range of bags for her own clothing line, VB.

She also launched a jewellery range in Japan.

Victoria, who has three boys with husband David – Brooklyn, ten, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz – was spotted in an almost-matching outfit yesterday.

Snapped at Los Angeles airport (where else?), Posh clutched a giant white bag that matched her tipped trilby. However, we’re not sure the jeans, shows and off-the-shoulder top were exactly the same shade of grey.
