WHEN it comes to "wardrobe malfunctions", the nip-slip is perhaps one of the most common celebrity fashion blunders.

And, as these photos show, it can strike at the most inopportune moments.

Poor Ekaterina Rubleva is a perfect example. The ice-skater was left red-faced after an energetic routine gave judges an eyeful at the European Figure Skating Championships.

Her pink dress slowly slipped down during her performance in Helsinki, leaving the audience and her skating partner rather distracted.

But she is in good company, with A-listers including Kate Moss and Uma Thurman also having flashed their boobs due to a poor sartorial decision.

Eva Mendes was also given cause to blush when her nipple escaped during an interview on French TV.

Clearly aware that she was popping out, the actress kept glancing down anxiously - but with the cameras on her, there was little she could do to cover up.

While most celebrities would be left mortified after revealing a little too much flesh, others seem to revel in such fashion slip-ups – almost to the point where they could be accused of orchestrating a well-timed PR stunt.

Janet Jackson’s career certainly took a turn for the better after she grabbed headlines with her famous 2004 Superbowl performance.

As she appeared alongside Justin Timberlake, the 'Rock Your Body' singer tore open Janet’s top as he sung the lyric "Gonna have you naked by the end of this song".

Not only did he expose her nipple, complete with piercing, but also her entire breast.

However, Janet denied the move was a stunt and later insisted he was only meant to reveal her bra, apologising for any offence she had caused.

Katie Price also appeared to force a well-timed nip-slip at one of her book launches.
