PRINCE Harry danced on stage with Basement Jaxx dressed as a monkey at the O2 Wireless festival in Hyde Park over the weekend, it has emerged.

The 24-year-old, who is third in line to the throne, had reportedly been hanging out backstage with friends when he decided to join the dance group on stage.

The monkey costume was used to hide the ginger prince's identity during the song Where's Your Head At?, celebrity gossip website Holy Moly! has reported.

The site said: "According to various moles who were backstage at the O2 Wireless festival in London's Hyde Park, Prince Harry was a permanent fixture at the side of the stage, getting stuck into the festivities (and the beers) and generally being an ace bloke, chatting to all and sundry.

“According to an eyewitness, the backstage area was crawling with Royal Protection Officers, none too pleased at Harry's shape-throwing, which was very much a last-minute decision!”

A source said of the pair: "You could barely conceive of two people who are more different on paper, but they got on like a house on fire.'

Goldie was at the festival to watch Dizzee Rascal perform. Prince Harry bumped into him backstage and invited him to the Live Nation tent.

The source added: “Harry invited Goldie to join him and his gang at a private party at the festival. Harry was with a group of male pals, and was being a perfect gentleman.

“He was chatting to everyone and got a couple of rounds in at the bar. He seemed to get on really well with Goldie, who took up his invitation.”

Harry watched bands from the side of the stage for one of the best views of the day, and chatted to festival-goers.
