MISCHA BARTON looked much healthier as she made her first public outing since leaving hospital.
The fresh-faced actress, who has spent nearly two weeks under "involuntary psychiatric hold", smiled at photographers as she headed to Los Angeles’ LAX airport.
The 23-year-old jetted to New York, where she is to resume work on her latest show, The Beautiful Life, in which she plays a drug-addict supermodel.
Earlier this month, Hammersmith-born Mischa was sectioned and admitted to a US psychiatric ward following growing fears for her safety.
She was held “involuntarily” at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles under Section 5150, the same code used to commit Britney Spears after she suffered a breakdown last year.
But The OC star looked like she may have left some of her recent troubles behind her.
Her spokesman Craig Schneider said: “Mischa is out of the hospital and continuing to improve in anticipation of resuming production as planned.
“She's back to business as usual.”
In a pretty green-and-gold dress with loose flowing hair, Mischa appeared much happier than a few weeks ago when she was seen leaving Covent Garden’s Bungalow 8 nightclub looking bleary-eyed and puffy-faced.
The Beautiful Life also stars Elle Macpherson and Corbin Bleu, while Ashton Kutcher is an executive producer of the show.
This week Ashton declared that: “ Mischa is doing great.”
