POP star Lady GaGa failed to turn up and support Take That in Manchester last night.

The singer performed an hour-long set at Glastonbury festival on Friday, wearing an outrageous metal outfit that showed off her long pins and most of her bottom.

But Lady GaGa decided not to take to the stage at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground as part of the band’s Circus tour.

It may be related to reports that she was devastated at the death of idol Michael Jackson.

Lady GaGa was booed by the 50,000 strong crowd in the group's hometown last night.

The second support act, Gary Go, entertained the crowds instead.

"A lot of people were genuinely disappointed because they'd gone to see her as well"

A 31-year-old fan from Stockport said an announcement flashed up on a big screen which said: "Sorry Lady GaGa will not be performing tonight."

She said: "It was a bit disappointing because there was nothing to get you going. You were stood there like a sardine.

"The crowd need that support to get you going before the main act. A lot of people were genuinely disappointed because they'd gone to see her as well."

Margaret Graves, 58, of Hoylake, Wirral, said: "Gary Barlow said 'thanks to Gary Go whose got us out of a real spot'."

She said he apologised to fans for Lady GaGa’s non-appearance and said: "'Don't get me started, you should have heard me backstage'."

A fan who posted a comment on Lady GaGa website said she had pulled out of the concert "due to being ill". There was no explanation on her or her record company's websites.

Fans who posted comments on Take That's website expressed their disappointment. One wrote: "How dare Lady GaGa not turn up? She lost herself 50,000 fans last night!"
