The conversation took place at New York’s ABC studios after Taylor’s appearance on The View.

"The support that I got from other artists and from the fans and so many people sticking up for me - that's what got me to the place where I could accept the apology"

She said: "The support that I got from other artists and from the fans and so many people sticking up for me - that's what got me to the place where I could accept the apology.

“And I'm just very thankful that everyone could show me so much love."

Recalling the moment when Kanye stormed onto the stage, Taylor said: “I think my overall thought process was… oh, Kanye West is here ... cool haircut, what are you doing here? And then, ‘Ouch’, and then ‘I guess I'm not going to get to thank fans'.”

Kanye told Jay Leno he realised his mistake at the same moment. He said: “I knew it was wrong when I gave the mic back to her and she didn’t keep going.”
