Jackson doctor's offices searched for evidence
Police raid Dr Conrad Murray's clinic to look for 'evidence of manslaughter' following Michael Jackson's sudden death
24 July 2009
MICHAEL Jackson’s doctor is the focus of a manslaughter investigation into the singer’s death, according to police documents.
A search warrant filed in a Houston court yesterday allowed authorities to seek “property or items constituting evidence of manslaughter that tend to show Dr Conrad Murray committed the said criminal offence”.
Los Angeles police and federal agents used the warrant to seize items, including 27 tablets of the weight-loss drug phentermine, a tablet of muscle-relaxant clonazepam, two hard drives, notices from the IRS and a controlled substance registration.
Prior to the search, Murray’s lawyer Ed Chernoff said: “The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death. We share that goal. Based on Dr Murray’s minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Jackson’s last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges.”
Meanwhile Jackson family friend Dr Steven Hoefflin said 12-year-old Prince Michael witnessed Murray’s attempts to resuscitate his father.
