Desperate girls in the Big Brother house were feeling so starved of male attention today they set about hunting for men in the small hours of the morning.
The randy housemates temporarily put their bitching, boozing and backstabbing to one side as they launched a frantic hunt for hunks in the grounds of their new home.
They got so frustrated they even convinced themselves there were some lads hiding next door in the compound, ready to leap into action.
Part-time actress Emily Parr, 19, said: "I think the boys are in a separate house watching us right now."
The gaggle of wannabes started banging on the walls and mirrors trying to make contact with "boys", even though there were none nearby.
Charley Uchea, 21, demanded Big Brother give them a guy to "flirt with" and sexual health worker, 53-year-old Carole Vincent complained: "Why would they have auditioned men if there weren’t going to be any?"
Uchea, bank executive Nicky Maxwell, Londoner Shabnam Paryani and pink-obsessed twins Sam and Amanda Marchant were so rampant they stayed up all night searching for beefcakes.
At 3.30am, they consulted blueprints for the house in their welcome packs and soon believed they had found a secret passage leading to the men housemates after discovering a light.
But all this turned out to be was an illuminated bulb inside one of the camera runs.
And their detective work didn’t stop there as they decided the Big Brother eye by the Diary Room provided the key to the men.
A triumphant Uchea said: "We’ve figured it out. For the first year they have filled the house with girls and for the first time they’ve put a keyhole on the eye. There’s always a clue on the eye."
But they won’t have long to wait as at least one lucky - or should that be unlucky - man is set to join the gaggle of girls tonight.
It is understood Big Brother will show video clips of three guys before allowing the girls to choose one, or maybe even two to join them.
Meanwhile, Uchea continued her quest to be the most unpopular housemate bragging how she wanted to be a TV presenter.
Unfortunately, the former lap dancer then confessed, rather surprisingly, that she was "camera shy."
She also played up her links to soccer star cousin Kieran Richardson, by claiming: "We have the whole of Manchester United watching us."
