I thought this might be a winner, but no. It’s the soul diva’s first release on her own Hurricane imprint and features Chaka Khan and Bee Gee Robin Gibb.

Yes, Knight has a syrupy smooth voice which is used to full effect on tracks such as Beautiful Night, but a dearth of catchy pop hooks and too much schmaltzy gospel render the rest of it little more than pseudo-soulful tripe.
