Gorgeous London university students went head to head in the ultimate contest of off-campus brains and beauty to find Miss University London.

But it was University of Westminster student Kristiana Rohder who walked away with the glamorous title and her pockets £500 heavier.

The brunette now hopes to pick up a modelling contract with leading agency Select.

Sophie Spillard of Imperial College took silver while Maria Shaura of the University of the Arts took bronze.

Event organiser, Christian Emile, of 121 Entertainment, said more a 400-strong crowd cheered the girls on at the event at Crystal Nightclub in Wells St, near Oxford Circus.

The stunning but smart women were selected by model agency scouts to each represent the top 14 of the city’s 22 universities.

The contestants were not required to model swimsuits instead taking to the stage in a range of knock-em-dead evening dresses.

Emile, 21, said: “There were no bikinis - we don’t sell that kind of image.

“The girls were given a list of possible questions they would be asked to learn and were judged based on their answers to the questions.”

The pageant, which started in December 2006, is an inaugural event which aims to provide “a refreshing and unprecedented” event for students across London.
