Punchdrunk Old Vic sell-out hit to have second run this autumn
Kevin Spacey's collaboration shifts 15,000 tickets in a day - but will return

FANCY shuffling through dark tunnels in a mask as a series of creepy figures loom out at you?
Apparently you do - because this underground performance experience has just become the sell-out happening of the summer.
Just hours after thelondonpaper yesterday revealed details of the "Tunnel 228" project, organised by Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey and theatre company Punchdrunk, all 15,000 tickets had gone.
But we have good news - the "immersive" show is set to return for a second run this autumn.
Says Spacey: "I always said if it looks like a success we will aim to reopen in the fall."

Plans are already under way to revive the project, which sees an entire dystopian world created in labyrinthine tunnels beneath Waterloo Station, around September this year.
However it would have to be approved by the owners of the tunnels, BRBR - formerly British Rail - and may not be free second time around.
Added Spacey: "It may have to be a regular paid-for show. Not much, but we have to cover our overheads."
It comes as scores of disgruntled Punchdrunk fans have bombarded Twitter sites and thelondonpaper.com, complaining of being unable to lay their hands on the free tickets.
One wrote: "I can't believe it's already sold out - totally gutted.”
Added another: "I wouldn't have known about it at all if I hadn't read thelondonpaper.”
Interest in the elaborate project, which also features artworks from leading artists including Anthony Micallef and Slinkachu, snowballed after Spacey himself sent www.thelondonpaper.com's link out on Twitter.
A spokesperson for Tunnel 228 said: "We've had a terrific response. Demand for tickets for a collaboration of this kind was always going to be high, especially given Punchdrunk's fanbase and the limited run. We really hope that everyone that attends will enjoy the experience."
