Phantom of the Opera sequel, Love Never Dies, will open early next year
The sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical will run at the Adelphi Theatre
3 July 2009
ANDREW Lloyd Webber's long-awaited Phantom of the Opera sequel, Love Never Dies, will open at the Adelphi Theatre early next year, he confirmed today.
And its stars will be 27-year-old American soprano Sierra Boggess and baritone Ramin Karimloo, who is currently playing the Phantom in the West End. "Sierra and Ramin will open in London early next year and then go to New York in the autumn," Lloyd Webber said. The £10m show is set on New York's Coney Island around 1907 - a decade on from the final actions in Phantom. There are plans, too, for a life-sized automaton version of the Phantom's beautiful protegee Christine.
