London last night: Kate's dress mess, Donny Tourette arrested, celebs dancing on the street

Kate Moss proved last night that a wardrobe malfunction can, sometimes, go right.

She made a spectacular entrance at last night’s Golden Age of Couture gala at the V&A, stepping out in a vintage Dior gold silk dress.

With one of the world’s most famous photographer’s Mario Testino on her arm, she was the centre of the action.

But within hours the dress was destroyed.

The supermodel, 33, suffered every fashion icon’s worst nightmare at the Golden Age of Couture gala at V& A, when Courtney Love stepped on the train of her 1940s vintage Dior dress.

Hours of partying later, it was clear the dress had been stress-tested even more - it was ripped beneath the arms and at the middle of the back.

There was also a rip around the bum, offering  salivating paparazzi a  slight glimpse at the super-model’s derriere.

Ever resourceful, Moss made do by hitching her dress up around her waist and tying it in a knot – giving the haute couture gown a second life.

For the 33 year old model was not going to let a little tear or two spoil her night.

She carried on for a intimate private party at China Tang in The Dorchester hotel. with a seemingly destroyed dress and showing more flesh than she intended.

Moss didn’t let the mishap ruin her evening, as she was one of the last to leave the after party.

After chatting to Naomi Campbell in the bar, Moss headed to dinner in a private dining room with Sir Philip Green, upcoming model Agyness Deyn and pal Davinia Taylor.

The model had a nightcap with pal Mick Jones of The Clash and Princess Beatrice, while restaurant owner David Tang slept nearby.

"She was just having a quiet night with friends," says a partygoer. "It looked like she was having a funny chat at the end. But she wasn’t drunk, and still looked glamorous."
