Five best Field Day after parties
The raving needn't stop once the Victoria Park one-dayer does - head this way for the best Field Day after parties from Bugged Out! to Richard Sen at Sosho
30 July 2009
The hipster answer to Lovebox (better bands, worse loos) is back with another killer line-up.
Scores of east end trendsters are set to don customised wellies and wiggle about to the likes of Mogwai, Skream, Santigold and The Horrors. If you can’t face the thought of heading home once the party in the park is over, then hotfoot it to one of these after-parties.
Field Day Official After Party Part 1
I’m not sure about the current trend for staging kick-ass after-parties for east end festivals in south London clubs. It’s a big ask for Hackneyites who’ve been boozing all-day to leave their comfort zone but promoters keep plugging away and this shindig brought to you by Bugged Out is definitely worth the trek. Erol Alkan headlines under his Disco 3000 moniker, Little Boots will be spinning some Italo classics and Balearic disco duo Aeroplane will add some sunshine vibes to the mix.

Pete’s 50th
Whoever the mysterious Pete is, he seems to have more birthdays than the Queen. Back yet again for another half-century communion at underground rave pit, Visions Video Bar, the promoters have lined-up a stellar cast of spinners. Topping the house and techno-edged bill are feted producer Simon Baker, housemeister Simon Morell and residents Ste Robers and Ryan Hope. The best birthday bash in town.

Deep Down in Hackney
What could be more east end than an after-party in a gallery/warehouse? Decked out by local artists to resemble a “junkyard disco” it features a suitably offbeat line-up with forward-thinking Kitsune duo Will and Joe Ask, one-to-watch Bishi and hot remixers Warboy and Tapedeck plus disco dons Toby Tobias, Namedrop and Benoit.

It’s One Big Disco
Rain might be forecast but that won’t dampen the mood at this Balearic-inspired knees-up. Yacht rock queens the Moustache Mamas will be warming up with their distinct brand of furry lip fun before main man Richard Sen gives the post-festival crowd a sonic education in everything from house and electro to psychedelic rock, funk and disco.
