Andrew Lloyd Webber plans Phantom sequel
27 March 2009
ANDREW Lloyd Webber's much-hyped sequel to Phantom of the Opera will premiere in the West End this autumn.
Love Never Dies is to open at the Adelphi Theatre - currently home to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat - in October or November. Tickets are set to go on sale in late May.
Originally Lloyd Webber planned to open the sequel simultaneously in London, Toronto, New York and Shanghai but he now says the capital will "have the edge" over the rest.
He also said he hoped to cast Ramin Karimloo, currently playing the Phantom in London, to star in the new show.
Love Never Dies sees the Phantom living in a fairground on Coney Island , reunited with Christine, now married to Raoul and with a son.
