Terms and conditions
Competition closes 10am on Thursday 17 September. If you are a winner and have not subscribed to Sky digital before you will be required to sign three subscription contracts (one Sky digital, one Sky+ and one Sky+HD subscription contract for the minimum term of 12 months). After your 12 months’ free viewing, standard subscription charges will apply. Unless you change your package you will pay the prevailing price for Sky World (currently £47.50 per month) and the HD Pack (currently £9.75 extra a month). Other Sky TV packages available (from £17.50 - £47.50 per month). Sky+ subscription is free while you subscribe to Sky TV (otherwise currently £9.75 per month) and is required to use the Personal Video Recorder features of the Sky+HD box. Sky+HD requires Sky TV, a Sky+HD box and the HD Pack. The channels you receive with your HD Pack depend on your Sky TV package. Sky selects your equipment. Some prices will increase from 1/1/10 due to VAT change: this includes a Sky TV package price increase by 50p or by £1 if you have both Sky Movies and Sky Sports Packs; HD Pack price will increase by 25p a month. You must be over 18 and resident in the United Kingdom. You will need Sky+HD professionally installed even if you already have a minidish. Extra costs apply for non-standard installation. You must keep your Sky+HD box connected to a fixed and operational telephone line for the minimum term of 12 months. If you need a minidish you are responsible for obtaining all consents required (e.g. landlord’s) before installation. Sky Box Office Movies, Stand-alone Premium Channels and pay-per-view services and events are not included in the Prize and must be paid for separately. Prices, programmes/channels subject to change. Existing Sky digital customers will receive a free Sky World subscription, Sky+ subscription and Sky HD subscription to the HD Pack for 12 months. Multiroom is not included in the prize. Sky will contact the winner to arrange installation of the winner’s prize. Winners must redeem their prize within one year, failure to process your installation application within this time period could result in loss of prize. 1. These terms and conditions apply to all competitions (unless and to the extent that) the competition states otherwise.
2. Unless otherwise specified, competition open to UK and ROI residents aged 18 or over except employees of NI Free Newspapers Ltd (NIFNL), News International Ltd, their families, agents or any other person(s) connected with the competition, including third party promotional partners.
3. Entry limited to one per person. The winner is responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions, in the event they are unable to do so then the NIFNL reserves the right to redraw the prize.
4. Entry is free but entrants should be aware that they may be subject to local call charges depending on their own individual arrangements for Internet access.
5. By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all these terms and conditions. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry. NIFNL reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions. NIFNL reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on the Website.
6. Unless otherwise specified, the winner(s) will be drawn at random from all correct entries received before the closing date. Winners will be notified within 28 days after the closing date. All reasonable endeavours will be made to contact the winner during this time. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, NIFNL reserves the right to re-draw another winner from the correct entries which were received before the closing date.
7. NIFNL reserves the right to publish entries (including parts of entries) other than the winning entry and publication does not necessarily mean the entrant has won a prize.
8. Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering, all entrants licence NIFNL a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to edit, publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity and news purposes.
9. NIFNL will not be liable for any failure of receipt of entries. NIFNL takes no responsibility for any entries that are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
10. Other than death or personal injury arising from the acts or omissions of NIFNL or its employees, NIFNL will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the winner’s (or their guest’s) enjoyment of the prize.
11. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.
12. By entering, any subsequent prize winners agree to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by NIFNL (thelondonpaper) or any associated or subsidiary company of News International Limited.
13. Uses of personal data received by NIFNL in the course of the promotion are subject to the privacy policy found on the Website. Winners' names may be published on the Website.
14. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
15. The Editor's decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.
16. NIFNL reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, in our sole discretion, a competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. NIFNL reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.

This Competition is open to all UK, Isle of Man, Channel Island and Republic of Ireland residents, aged 18 years or over. Proof of age may be required. Employees (or family members of employees) of any British Sky Broadcasting Group company, companies associated with the Promotion and all affiliates of such companies (collectively “the Companies”) may not enter any prize draw or competition.
To take part in the Competition you need to participate in the News International competition in thelondonpaper between Thursday 10th September and Wednesday 16th September 2009. Sky reserves the right to substitute the prizes (or any part of them) for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control.
The terms and conditions of any third party supplier will apply to the prize where applicable.
Sky will not be liable for Prizes that do not reach the winners for reasons beyond Sky’s reasonable control.
If any winner is not able, for whatever reason, to accept a prize, then Sky reserves the right to award the prize to another participant.

Details of prize winners‘ names and counties will be available for one month after the close of the Competition by writing to Sky at Grant Way, Isleworth, Middlesex TW7 5QD and stating the name and date of the Competition.
The name, county and photograph of the winners may be used by Sky and its associated companies for post-event publicity purposes.
